DEREK JAYSON Voted Grand Prize Winner!
The winner of the La La Luden’s® Jingle Contest is Derek Jayson, featuring his acapella group, Haviland. Derek won the grand prize of $2,500 in cash, tickets to one of America’s top talent search shows, a year’s supply of Luden’s® products, and his jingle is also featured on our website above. Derek’s jingle was selected out of many entries to be posted as a finalist in an online vote from July 23rd to Aug 17th. With over 100,000 votes, Derek was the narrow, but decisive winner.
Derek, and the other members of Haviland: Dustin Hyatt, Mark Joseph, Tracy Robertson, and Francisco Ruiz, are students or recent graduates of Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. He was inspired to create the jingle since he knows singing can often be interrupted by sore throats. Acapella groups only use their voices, making them even more vulnerable to scratchy throats, and Derek actually performed with a Luden’s® drop in his mouth!
